Pi Network is a social cryptocurrency and a platform for developers that enables mobile device users to mine Pi coins. It was founded by a group of Stanford University alumni, including Nicolas Kokkalis, Chengdiao Fan, and Vincent McPhillip.[1][2][3]The network has gained significant popularity, with over 50 million participants from around the world spanning 209 countries or regions.[4][better source needed] In August 2022, Pi Network executed a major blockchain migration, with one million "Pioneers" transitioning to the Pi Mainnet. The Pi Network team has released a two-part roadmap announcement regarding the Open Mainnet launch. The roadmap is divided into two versions: Version 1: Released in mid to late October 2023 This version focuses on past and current milestones achieved by Pi Network, highlighting the project's progress and accomplishments. Version 2: Released in December 2023 This version will outline the upcoming milestones and objectives leading up to the Open Mainnet launch. One such incident involved reports of the listing of PI on platforms like Huobi and XT.com, which led to a rapid increase in the token's value. The Pi Network team later clarified through a Twitter announcement that they had no association with these exchanges and had not authorized the listing.[6] [7][8]
