During his campaign, Guinn touted his six-year mayoral tenure as the main reason should be elected to a fourth term. Guinn said he should be elected because of his mix of political experience and strong desire to improve the lives of citizens. The mayor is paid $550 monthly.

Guinn was active in attracting businesses to the city and has publicly advocated for his constituents. He has been an ardent supporter of downtown revitalization.


Zimmer said before the election that she brings unique experience to the table, spending eight years as a former city administrator. Zimmer also noted her budgeting experience and said she will not base decisions on politics.
