2018 Virginia UMBC Basketball Game
The 2018 Virginia UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) basketball game was a college basketball game played on March 16, 2018. This game was played as a part of the 2018 NCAA College Basketball Tournament, an annual competition between the 68 best teams in College Basketball.
This game is quite a notable one due to the nature of its result, as UMBC became the first 16 seed in NCAA Tournament history to defeat a 1 seed, Virginia. Before this game, 1 seeds had been 135-0 against 16 seeds. UMBC won by a stunning 20 points, 74-54, as Jairus Lyles and company unabashedly whooped the ass of a Virginia team that many believed the best in the nation.
