A38 (diary product)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

A38 is a soured milk product consisting of milk with fat content of 0.5 to 3.5% which has been pasteurized, homogenized and soured with lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus. It is produced and marketed by Arla.

A38 was launched in 1980's. It is a mild form of yoghurt/ymer. The name originally came from 'Andelsmejeriet' (Danish for the diary cooperative) and 1938, the year in which the A38 was originally meant to be introduced. Today, however, A stands for 'Acidophilus'.[1]
