AMT 626
The AMT 626 was a 5 wheel utility vehicle produced by John Deere from 1990 to 1993, and the predecessor to the John Deere Gator.
The AMT (All Material Transport) was first introduced as the model 600 in 1987.[1] The AMT 600 was designed with a single passenger, ATV-style seat, handle bar configuration for steering, and a cargo box behind. The four drive wheels in the rear had a locking differential; the single tire in front steered. A two passenger model (622) was introduced soon afterwards, with automotive-type steering as well as gas and brake pedals.[2] In 1990 the 622 model was replaced by the 626, featuring a wider stance and governor giving a top speed of 15.5 MPH. Production continued until Spring of 1993.[3]
