Ahmedabad is recognized as a world heritage city. Besides this, Ahmedabad is also considered as a paradise for food lovers because of delicious food varieties served in various parts of city. One can witness great delicious food at any time in the city from early mornings to late mid-night. People of Ahmedabad are extremely fond of delicious food and know how to enjoy food. Manek Chowk, CEPT road, IIM road, Theka cafe, Ramada, Parmial garden, Law garden, Patang hotel are few of the most renounced places among the food lovers through out the city.

Ahmedabad food festival[edit]

Ahmedabad food festival is something hosted every year where participants from around the country come up to serve extraordinary delicious food items to the public of Ahmedabad where people turn up in large numbers and celebrate with great joy. Some of the great chefs like Rushad Ginwala, Dilip Thakkar, Saurab Agrawal, Narendra Somani are the hands for this extraordinary festival arranged and celebrated in the city of Ahmedabad.[1]

Gujrati thali[edit]

The big fat Gujrati Thali consists of dal, roti, rice, vegetables, salad, chaas, farsan followed by a sweet dish. Gujarati cuisine includes dhokla, fafda, khandvi, dhal dhokli, undhiyu, handvo, ganthia, dal wada, khakhra, and thepla. In Gujarati dishes, there is a blend of sweet, spicy and sour tastes. Each region of the state has a distinctive flavor associated with its local food. A typical Gujarati dinner also consists of bhakri-shak or khichdi-kadhi. The Gujaratis are noted for their sweet tongue, and hence every meal is followed by a sweet dish or sometimes even jaggery.[2] besides gujrati thali; gujrati's are also known for there various snack types such as dabeli; khakra; fafda; khaman and a way big list of mouth-watering and delightful tasty dishes.

Khakhra[edit]

Among all the Famous Gujarati Dishes like Fafada, Kaman, Khichdi, Jalebi, Sev Khamani, Dabeli and many more, Khakhra is also very popular and also traditional dish of Jain Gujarati cuisine. Khakhra is mostly prepared and eaten in Gujarat, especially by Jain Gujarati’s as it is free from onion and garlic. Khakhra’s are prepared individually same as roti and roasted at low flame to make it crispy and delicious. Khakhra is round shaped crisp roti made from wheat flour and oil. Additional flavor can be added as per one’s choice. There are way many flavors available in gujrati dish "Khakra" from simple plani; spicy; masala; pani-puri (an Indian snack) etc to pizza; noodles; tacos etc. It is also known as " Gujrati Nachos" cause of its taste.[3]
