Al Vila was a European/Australian actor and dance maestro.

Career[edit]

Vila started his career as a dancer, and settled in Australia as a dancing teacher/choreographer. After this, he focused on movies/TV acting.

Al Vila.[1] has appeared as a guest on television in Homicide, Cop Shop, Rose Against the Odds.[2], Carson's Law, Blue Heelers[3], Chances, Corelli, Carmel & St Jude, series one of Underbelly and City Homicide[4].

He has also choreographed for many dance exhibitions, commercials and musicals such as West Side Story, Half A Sixpence, The Boyfriend and Hello Dolly and is fluent in several languages, including Spanish, Catalan and Italian.[5]

In 2011, Vila played Griffith Godfather Carlo Ricci in the high-rating television movie Underbelly Files: Infiltration[6].

Personal life[edit]

He was born in Spain and after developing dancing skills while performing, mainly in Italy, moved to WA, Australia.

There, he ran a dance academy.

In 2019, he passed away in a tragic house fire[7]
