Alana Lilly-anne Pang (born 25 February 2005) is a figure skater and ice dancer from the United Kingdom. She has held three national British championship titles and six championship medals. Alana also holds a current International Gold medal in Copenhagen, Denmark and Intermediate Novice British Champion. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Early Life and education[edit | edit source]

Pang was born in Nottingham, England to parents: David Pang and Caroline Anne Pang. Her family history has English, Irish and Cantonese ancestry. Alana attended chesterfield school: Park House in Lower Pilsley and attended both St Marys Catholic High School in Chesterfield and Highfields ( Matlock) whilst in secondary education. Alana partook in many activities/ classes as a child including: ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics and swimming.[10]

Career[edit | edit source]

Alana started ice skating at local ice rink ′Lammas Lesiure Centre′ in Sutton in Ashfield at the age of five occasionally for lesiure.
At the age of seven, in 2012, she started the Skate UK course there and started training with coach Gemma Kerry once reaches the end of the Skate UK passport. A year later she competed in the annual Blackpool Annual Festival for Lammas Ice Skating Club at the age of 8 in beginner ladies.[11] [12] [13]

Over the next few years Alana competed in over 30 competitions for Lammas, often placing in the top 3. She later started training at sheffield for the Ice Sheffield Skating Academy in mid-2016 with coaches: Dawn Peckett, Mark Hanretty, Peter James Hallam, David Hartley and Vivian Dean.
In early 2016, Alana also began training in couples dance alongside Ice dance and singles figure skating.
Alana also became a member of the official GBR Development squad team in 2016 and is currently still within the program.
The GBR Development Team is ran by British Ice Skating, formerly known as: NISA ( National Ice Skating Association )

Recent Career[edit | edit source]

In 2016-17 Alana competed in 2 British Championships coming back with a silver medal in the solo dance juvenile category. In 2017-18 she won both a gold medal in the Primary solo dance category and a silver in basic novice A Ladies during the national championships [16][17][18] In 2018-19 Alana won two gold medals in the national championships during the same year.

Alana competed all over Europe representing her country in several internationals.
Alana has won a Gold International medal in the Copenhagen Cup in Denmark for Advanced Novice Ladies.
She has also competed twice in the Latvian Volvo Cup coming home with a silver medal in the Intermediate novice ladies category.
Alana has thrice skated in Bulgaria placing top 5 in the prestigious Sofia Cup and the Skate Victoria Cup. Alana competed in Skate America Grand Prix 2018. Alana also recently skated for GBR In Croatia Advanced Novice Girls. .[19][20][21]
