Alec Ybarra[edit]

Alec Ybarra is an American film actor, writer, director, producer, and editor. He is most notably known for directing the feature film Unmarked, which is based on his own personal true story about dealing with bullying and school corruption.

Ybarra was born in Denver, Colorado on October 21, 2003. Since the age of 6, he has been heavily involved in acting and filmmaking. When he was 6 years old, Ybarra spent the majority of his time writing short film screenplays and acting in several short and feature films. In 2015, he was bullied by a classmate and the classmate's mother, who soon became increasingly hostile towards Ybarra's family. The situation lasted for about a year; and several months after it ended in July 2016, Ybarra wrote a feature length screenplay that was inspired by the situation. He soon raised enough money to produce the script into the feature film titled Unmarked. The filmmaking process went on for 2 years, and Ybarra told the media that he was "proud to make a film about it - that can help a lot of other people going through similar things".

The film was met with critical acclaim for Ybarra's acting, editing, and directorial style, and is scheduled for a worldwide release by Summer Hill Entertainment. Ever since developing Unmarked, Ybarra has chosen to focus his career on the directorial aspects of film, while still maintaining an acting presence. His main ambition is pursuing creative ways to tell groundbreaking and relevant stories.

As of November 2018, Ybarra is directing 2 more films, which are in pre-production and are both scheduled to be released in 2019.
