Alessandro Mocellin (born January 30, 1988) is a linguist and author of Venetia.
Since 2010, when he published his first book "Libera grafia universale"..[1], he has been personally involved in protecting and spreading Venetian language[2] that has been considered as "vulnerable"[3] by UNESCO.
He is known for being the first author of the first Venetian language-written academic manual "I Sete Tamizi - Ła ciave per capir tute łe łengue romanse!"[4][5], in cooperation with German academic teachers Horst G. Klein and Tilbert D. Stegmann[6], of the Goethe Universität of Frankfurt which handles and supports the scientific series of studies for the intercomprehension between Romance languages[7].
He has even been the promoter and main responsible of the first International Conference on the Venetian Language (#1CILVE)[8][9][10], where academic personalities like UNESCO Prof. Christopher Moseley signed a declaration[11] aimed at institutionally recognizing Venetian as a language[12].
In June 2017 he has been elected as the President of the Academia de ła Bona Creansa. In November 2017, with the support[13] of Veneto Region, he went to the Venetian communities in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in order to promote teaching projects[14] of Venetian-Brazilian language; he also took part in the auditions at the Consiglio Regionale del Veneto, referring on the matter of Administrative Autonomy in the field of Venetian culture[15]
