Mr. Alex Meyerovich immigrated to the United States in 1994 from former Soviet Union. He received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2007. He was admitted to the bar in Connecticut and New York in 2007 and has been the Managing Partner of the M.C. Law Group, LLC, since November 2007.

At the M.C. Law Group, Mr. Meyerovich has grown the firm into an office with four lawyers, four paralegals and support staff. Attorney Meyerovich has overseen a great volume of cases with important humanitarian consequences. He regularly represents abused spouses, refugees, and victims of human trafficking from various countries on immigration matters. He has successfully represented hundreds of clients who have received special visas, asylum, legal permanent residence, and U.S. citizenship. Under Mr. Meyerovich’s leadership, M.C. Law Group, LLC has won many Immigration Court cases, successfully appealed many cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) , and has successfully had previously denied cases re-opened and reconsidered. Mr. Meyerovich performs a significant amount of work on a pro-bono or low-bono basis.

Mr. Meyerovich is extraordinarily active in his community as a legal professional. He is the Board Member of the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants in Bridgeport, CT[1], a statewide non-profit agency that provides legal and social service to immigrants and refugees. Mr. Meyerovich frequently conducts free local outreach seminars and offers pro-bono legal advice to the immigrant communities in Bridgeport, Stamford, and Stratford.

Attorney Meyerovich has been:

• AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) since 2008 • Member of GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) • Member of National Lawyers Guild and National Immigration Project, organizations dedicated to advancement of human rights and representation of non-citizens. • Media consultant for Connecticut News12 on immigration issues. • Frequently interviewed by Connecticut and national reporters on the immigration issues. • Recognized by his peers as a valuable resource in advising on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, tax and family law issues.

Attorney Meyerovich is a frequent guest on Connecticut News12 on immigration issues and he actively advocates for his clients using public media. Attorney Meyerovich in collaboration with the News12 reporter Frank Recchia organized an interview with the Syrian refugees to shed light on the horrors of the ongoing civil war in Syria. That News12 report on Syrian uprising was nominated for the 2013 New York Emmy Award in the Politics/Government category.
