Alexandru Ion Barbu
Biography[edit | edit source]
Barbu studied at Ion Minulescu high-school. He did his undergrad at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and his MSc in Economics at Pompeu Fabra University. He went then to work at the European Central Bank (2013-2014) and the Deutsche Bundesbank (2014-2015) under the guidance of Dr. Emanuel Mönch.
Competitions[edit | edit source]
He has one of the best records ever in international geography olympiads:
- He won the gold medal and first place on two separate occassions at the International Geography Olympiad: Carthage, Tunisia (2008); Taipei, Taiwan (2010).
- He won the gold medal at the Central European Regional Geography Olympiad in Chorzów – Bielsko-Biała, Poland (2009).
