Alexey Mikhailovich Agranovich (born October 23, 1970, Moscow, USSR) — Russian actor, director, producer, artistic director of the Gogol Center (since February 16, 2021)..[1].
Biography[edit]
In 1987 he graduated from school No.45 (school named after Leonid Milgram)[2]. After leaving school, he worked at the film studio "Mosfilm", at the same time (1987-1988) he studied at the theater-studio "Presence" (direction - O. Fershtein). In 1988-1990 he worked in the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army.
In 1990, he enrolled in an acting and directing course of Sergei Solovyov and Valery Rubinchik at the VGIK as a non-matriculating student, in 1991-1994 he was studying at the acting course of Albert Filozov and Armen Dzhigarkhanyan.
In 1994–1995, he was a representative of the DDT group in Moscow and advertising producer of the Paganel company.
Since 1995, he has been acting in theater and cinema, directing films, theatrical performances, festivals and special events.
In 1996, he created a production company "Ball Lightning" (together with an animation studio "Shar"), that was operating in the segment of special events.
In 2003, he worked as one of the presenters of the "Football of Russia" hosts (on the TV channels "Russia" and "Sport"). In 2006 he became a director and host of the sketch show "Gogol Street" on the REN TV channel. In 2007, he started to work as a head of the entertainment programs department of the Production Management Department of the STS Media television holding.[3]

He was appointed artistic director of the "Gogol Center". He took office on February 26, 2021[4]

While studying at VGIK, he participated in the organization of the International Student Film Festival. His first independent project was a joint concert of DDT and Kalinov Most at the Theater of the Soviet Army on October 28, 1994.
