Almerimar whose official name is 'Ensenada San Miguel', was founded by businessman Agustín González Mozo, is a population unit located in El Ejido (province of Almeria, Spain). Its population in 2012 was 6804 inhabitants.
It has a strong tourist orientation, with several beaches, where you can perform numerous water sports. It was part of the outdoors in the movie Conan the Barbarian.
Marina[edit | edit source]
The Puerto Deportivo de Almerimar, has a large capacity, has 1100 berths, for ships of various types of draft. This is bordering the area of shops and tourist accommodation in addition to a large dry dock (two hectares).
The marina of Almerimar has facilities that allow sports such as sailing throughout the year.
It is located in an extraordinary place within the province of Almeria. The place with the highest number of sunshine hours in the entire European continent, more than 3,000 hours a year and an average annual temperature of over 20 ºC. Almerimar within the tourist complexes of Andalusia, is one of the most important due to its infrastructure and the multitude of modern services it has. Almeria airport with both national and European flights can be found approximately 40 minutes, thanks to a good direct access from the Mediterranean Highway.

The Almerimar golf course built in 1976 by Rob Kirby and Gary Player has 27 holes divided into 18 on the main course and 9 on the secondary course. The field is characterized by wide streets, great vegetation and a good amount of obstacles in the form of water making access to the greens difficult.
Tourist accommodation It has two hotels, Hotel Golf Almerimar 5 * and Hotel AR Almerimar 4 * in addition to the Tourist Apartments Dream Sea.
Parking for motorhomes[edit | edit source]
In the Port of Almerimar you can enjoy a parking area for motorhomes next to the sea. It has 24 hour service, drinking water, drainage for gray and black water, bathrooms and showers, electricity and wifi among other many amenities.
Lake Victoria[edit | edit source]
In the 'Ensenada de San Miguel', we can find an inland sea where there is a rowing and canoeing club where you can practice these sports as well as get started in them.
The beaches of El Ejido concentrate, during the summer months, a varied program of sports activities.
Equestrian[edit | edit source]
In Almerimar you can also start in the practice of horse riding or simply ride a horse through the Natural Reserve Punta Entinas-Sabinar which has an approximate area of 785 hectares.
Beach of Balerma[edit | edit source]
At the beach of Balerma you can enjoy 6 km long and about 40 m wide in addition to the blue flag for the quality of its water and sand, along with a 3 km long promenade where you can appreciate a watchtower of the eighteenth century.
