Amethiya Rajput

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Amethiya Rajput (or Amethia) is one of the prominent branch of Gaur clan of Rajput. It is one of the five branches of the Gaur Rajputs, who claim to be descendants of the Pala Dynasty that ruled ancient Bengal, then known as Gaur.

They are considered to have been originally settled in Kalinjar (Bundelkhand region) whence they emigrated into Oudh under Raja Raipal Singh, about the time of Tamerlane's invasion.[1] They ruled Amethi and some other parts of Uttar Pradesh from where they got their clan name. Their estates include Akhiapur, Birsinghpur, Pokhra Ansari, Ramnagar, Usah, among others.[2]
