Amsterdam International Radio (AIR FM for short) is a media company and online radio station based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands that specializes in giving musicians, artists and podcasters globally a platform to be promoted and discovered online, they do this mainly through social media promotion and their online radio shows which feature music from new artists, interviews, current events and guest podcasts that are submitted in advance. Aside from offering promotion and talent scouting AIR FM works together with various venues in and around Amsterdam to book their scouted talents for shows.

Since the company focuses on a broad and international audience the language used in the broadcasts is English making AIR FM the first English-language media outlet in the Netherlands.

Branding[edit]

Despite actually being located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands the name Amsterdam in "Amsterdam International Radio" is meant as a brand name rather than an indicator of a location. This decision was made due to the fact that AIR FM focuses on an international audience and therefore does not want to limit itself to the city of Amsterdam alone while at the same time using the name of the city of Amsterdam as a brand due to its reputation as one of the world's most popular party-hubs and due to its popular music scene.

[edit]

The AIR FM logo consists of three orange rings within each other. The rings represent sound waves as they come out of the speaker, whereas the orange color represents the national colors of the Netherlands where the company is located. The name AirFM is written underneath the rings.
