Commander Andrew Scott Willis, MVO, RAN is the current Commanding Officer of HMAS Parramatta. Andrew originally joined the Royal Australian Navy during 1992 as a Principal Warfare Officer.

Military career[edit]

Willis joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1992, eventually graduating from the Australian Defence Force Academy. He certified as a Principal Warfare Officer, serving as the operations officer in 2003–2004 and as the Executive Officer in 2008–2009 of HMAS Parramatta.[1]

Willis has served in a number of aid and advisory capacities, Australian Defence Force advisor to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of the Defence Force and Equerry to Queen Elizabeth II during her 2011 official visit to Australia.[1] He was appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Order for his service's during the Queen's visit.[2][1]

Willis went on to attend the Australian Command and Staff College. He holds a Master of Arts in Strategy and Management, Masters in Human Resource Management and a Masters of Project Management.[1]
