Anthony "Marc" Perrone is the president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW).[1], one of North America's largest private-sector labor unions, representing 1.3 million workers in Canada, the United States, and Puerto Rico.

Activism and Career[edit]

Perrone's activism in the UFCW and the broader labour movement started while working at Weingartens supermarket as a teenager [2].

Over the next four decades, he served the UFCW as an international representative, crew coordinator, and executive assistant focused on organizing, until 2004 when he became the union's secretary treasurer.[2]

In 2014, Perrone became the UFCW's fourth international president, upon the retirement of Joseph T. Hansen.

In 2017, Perrone was awarded the "At the River I Stand Award" by the AFL-CIO(UFCW)[2]
