Apical Group (also known as Apical) is a palm oil exporter engaged in sourcing, refining, merchandising distribution and trading of crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives.[1] It is headquartered in Singapore and has operations in Indonesia.[2] Incorporated in 2006, Apical is managed by RGE,[3][4][5] and is one of the largest palm oil exporters in Indonesia.[6]
Operations[edit]
Apical has operations in Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan in Indonesia,[7] Nanjing in China, and Huelva in Spain.[8][9] It also manufactures cooking oil and margarine products for the domestic market in Indonesia.[10]
The company acquired Spanish biodiesel company Bio-Oils in 2016 and Indonesia-based Kutai Refinery Nusantara in 2018.
In 2017, Apical entered into a joint-venture with Kao Corporation to establish Apical Kao Chemicals in Indonesia, which manufactures fatty acids products.[11] It also established two joint ventures with the Mujahid Group and the MM Group of Companies in Pakistan.[12]
The company founded a blockchain initiative SUSTAIN in 2018 alongside Neste, Kao Corporation, SAP and Asian Agri -- a first blockhain-traceability project in the palm oil industry.[13]
