Árni Ísaksson (born October 22, 1983 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic professional mixed martial artist.[1][2]

Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Arni trained basketball and various track and field sports for two years between the age of 12 and 15. When Kick-box came first to Iceland around 1999 (in Betrunarhusid), Arni bought one year membership after his first practice at the age of 15. After roughly two and a half years of training, Arni decided to pursue a professional career in the fighting genre at the age of 18.

Injury[edit]

Arni got a serious injury on his knee during a takedown practice, in late 2006. It got bent against the joint and nearly tarred all the ligaments in the knee. Arni was two years in physical rehabilitation, determined to recover and continue his career in MMA. His first fight after full recovery was against Luis Dutra Jr. in 2009.
