Early Life[edit]
Born on 2nd October 1985 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He developed a flair for music at a young age. He learnt to play the keyboard and was part of his school band. He graduated from The College of Engineering, Guindy with a Masters in Electronic Media. He then went on to work for the English Television Channel NDTV HINDU till 2012.
Music career[edit]
His career in music began during his college days when he concurrently ventured into advertisements, short film, documentaries, jingles and corporates as an independent composer. He also scored music for theatre plays Aladdin , Kingdom of fools and Harry potter produced by the Landing Stage theatre group. He has worked on over 100 short films(Indian and international) including a few award winning ones such as “The wish”, “kaniyum naanum [1]”,“12.00 am”, “Mitti”. He also scored music for a few shows on NDTV Hindu and the popular game show Connexions on Star Vijay (Vijay Tv).
Debut Movie as Music Diretor[edit]
He then made his debut as a film music composer in the tamil film, Nalanum Nandhiniyum[1] [2][3]in 2013. For the album he worked alongside leading vocalists including Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan , Vijay Prakash , P. Unnikrishnan , Chinmayi and lyricists Gangai Amaran and Madhan Karky .The music of the film was written about in all the leading newspapers , websites and magazines.

Recent Work[edit]
Ashwath has also worked with the ace film maker Gautham Menon on a couple of advertisements [2]. The association subsequently gave him an opportunity to work on the background score of one of his productions , “Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum” featuring actor Jai (actor) and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
His second film is titled Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam[5][6], directed by Sudhar (film director). The audio released on 15 November 2018. Behindwoods[7] reviewed that TPTK has a nice mix of melody, folk and western music woven into a decent album. Here is the song link in youtube[8]
Music for Recent Web-Series[edit]
Recently he has also scored the music for a bilingual (tamil/telugu) web series titled “Whatsapp Velakaari/ What’s up Panimanishi” for Yupp TV Originals, the telugu version of which has released in the US.
Apart from composing, Ashwath is also a passionate Teacher. He has given guest lectures at various colleges across Tamil Nadu and also made a deliberate choice of being a part time lecturer.
