Aspose.PDF is a family of development products for composing, editing, converting, and viewing PDF documents.[1][2] It is an API that allows the manipulation of PDF documents in applications, without the need for Adobe Acrobat.[3][4][5] Aspose.PDF is a PDF producing component - library which is usually chosen in the planning and modeling phase of development.[6]

The company background[edit]

The company was founded in 2002 as a response to a desire for .NET APIs for file format conversion and manipulation. Its early APIs addressed specific problems but quickly grew to cover a full range of Microsoft Office application features. Throughout the company's history, it has continued to feature new platforms to its array of products and now offers convenient Aspose APIs for not just .NET but also Java, Cloud, and Android.[7][8]


Aspose.PDF on premise APIs[edit]

It is a PDF file format processing API that helps .NET and Java developers work with PDF documents.[9][10] Aspose.Pdf for .NET and Aspose.Pdf for Java support a wide range of features, from simple PDF file creation to more complex operations like managing PDF forms, security, and signatures. Additionally, the library also provides PDF solutions for Cloud, Android, SharePoint, Reporting Services, and JasperReports.[11][12][13]

APIs support Floating box, PDF form field, PDF attachments, security, footnote and end-note, multiple columns document, table of contents, list of tables, nested tables, rich text format, images, hyperlinks, JavaScript, annotation, bookmarks, headers, footers and lots of more. Developers can also create PDF files directly using API or via XML templates and might manage form fields embedded within the documents as well as create forms.[14]

Aspose.PDF for C++ is a native library that allows developers to feature PDF processing capabilities to their C++ applications. API may be accustomed to build any sort of 32-bit and 64-bit C++ applications generate, convert, read, and manipulate PDF documents.[15]

Aspose.PDF cloud APIs[edit]

Aspose.PDF Cloud for cURL is intended for developers to help them to create PDF on cloud storage or import cloud PDF from HTML, XML, or images. It can be used also to perform various operations on PDF documents hosted on cloud storage via simple cURL commands. Without installing any 3rd party software the library can be used to split large PDF documents, merge multiple PDFs, watermark, append, annotate, or protect your Acrobat cloud documents.[16]

Aspose.PDF Cloud .NET SDK as well as Aspose.PDF Cloud Java SDK help programmers to develop PDF editor, converter, and creator apps for cloud platforms. It is distributed under an MIT license and is based on Aspose.PDF REST API.[17][18]

Aspose.PDF cross platform[edit]

Aspose PDF converter is an app to convert PDF format to DOC, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, XML, XPS, EPUB, TEX, HTML, BMP, PNG, SVG, TIFF, JPG, EMF.[19]

Aspose PDF Metadata is an online metadata editor. It helps reading or editing PDF metadata from Mac OS, Linux, Android, iOs, and anywhere.[20]

Aspose PDF Viewer helps viewing PDF, PDF/A, PDF/UA files online.[21]
