Assar اسڑ is a village in Achh Union Council of Gujrat District and tehsil kharian in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is situated on the Sadwal Kadhala, 11.4 kilometres away from Kotla Arab Ali Khan and 17.6 kilometres from Bhimber. Kadhala and Palaghran are neighbouring villages. Administratively, Mostly people from Assar belong to Assar Jatt Cast. In Partition 1947 Sikh Assar migrated to India. After Partition Many Assar Families Migrated From village Assar to chak190GB Vehari Multan, Sanghar Sindh Sargodha, Bakhar and many other places of Pakistan. Nala Bhandar flows on one side of the village and village is settled on a hill makes breath taking views and cool place to live in healthy Environment
Geographically Assar is situated On a Hill bordering Azad Kashmir. It is situated between Kadhala and Palaghran Villages alongside Bhimber Road.The "Nala Bhandar" flows on the eastern side of the village. Alongside "Nala Bhandar" there is dense small forest called Balee. Bhimber Road bisects the village Assar and Kadhala.On western side Nala Bhandar is situated, in North Kadhala Village is located and in South Palaghran Village is located
Assar is an ancient Settlement. Documented records of Assar exist of pre-partition time.
Until the late 70's agriculture and Army were the only employment.Rain and sub surface water well provide water for irrigation. Subsistence Agriculture is practiced by some but increasingly reducing in size. People diversified their option more after independence from British Raj. Many people joined Armed Forces and industrial Units across Pakistan. Small land holdings and no proper source of irrigation have forced people to look for alternatives. Until the mid 90's, the Middle East was the favorite destination for workers, but now people from Assar are working in Europe, America and many other Asian Countries.People are moving towards establishing their own Private Businesses within and outside Pakistan.
Assar has Govt. boys and girls primary School.It has a large, beautiful, well managed Janaza Gah. Because Village is situated on a hill along side Nala Bhandar makes Breath Taking Views.
