Association of Women in the Arts (AWITA)

The Association of Women in the Arts (AWITA) is a professional networking and mentoring organisation for women working in the visual arts in London. It was launched in November 2016.

The organisation was co-founded by Katrina Aleksa, Theodora Clarke, Kate Gordon and Sigrid Kirk.

Several notable women feature on AWITA’s Advisory Board, including Caroline Douglas, Margot Heller, Julia Hobsbawm, Melanie Keen, Jenni Lomax OBE, Kate MacGarry, Sophie Macpherson, Fatima Maleki, Abigail Morris, Frances Morris, Valeria Napoleone, Maureen Paley and Cheyenne Westphal.

The organisation intends to bring women in the art world together to share contacts, mentor each other, collaborate and create a new kind of community.
