Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (popularly known as Babu Bhaiya) is a fictional character appearing in the Hera Pheri film franchise. He was first introduced in Hera Pheri and he later appears in Phir Hera Pheri & its possible sequel Hera Pheri 3.[1]. Portrayed by Paresh Rawal in both films, this character was created by director of the first film, Priyadarshan, and writer Neeraj Vora.
In the first film, he is shown as the owner of a automobile garage in Mumbai and leases a room to the other two characters, Raju and Shyam.
In a 2021 interview, Rawal expressed qualms about being boxed in the image of the character[2][3].
