The Baltimore Redbirds are a now-defunct[1] summer collegiate baseball team in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League (CRCBL). The Redbirds played their home games at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland. They were a founding member of the CRCBL in 2005, as the Maryland Redbirds, and changed their name to Baltimore Redbirds prior to the 2010 season.[2] They have over 80 alumni playing baseball professionally, including one (Ryan Garton) that has appeared in the major leagues.[1]

The Redbirds made it to the Cal Ripken League Championship series ten straight years,[3] winning five titles, including four straight from 2012-15, defeating the rival Bethesda Big Train each time. In 2016, they won their first regular season title, but fell to the Big Train in the championship for the first time in five seasons.[2] In 2018, the Redbirds split the first two games of the championship series with the Big Train. The decisive game three was cancelled due to rain, so the Redbirds and Big Train were crowned co-champions.

Less than two weeks after their co-championship with the Big Train in July 2018, the Redbirds announced on their website and social media that they were ceasing operation before the 2019 season.[4]
