Bay Bay
Terrence Stewart (born January 23, 1975), known professionally as Bay Bay, is an American DJ, record producer, entertainer, actor, and media personality. Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, he became a household name when Rapper, Hurricane Chris, dropped the certified platinum single in 2007 entitled, “A Bay Bay”A Bay Bay, which paid homage to and was inspired by the popular DJ.
Earlier Years[edit]
A one-time dancer and choreographer, musician, and student at Grambling State University [1], in 2005, Bay Bay began working in Radio at Shreveport’s 103.7 The Beat[2]. From radio to hosting popular local nightclub events, Bay Bay became known as the ambassador of the ‘Ratchet Movement’[3] in the South. Since 2007, Bay Bay has maintained his position as afternoon drive time DJ at K104FM in Dallas K104FM in Dallas. Bay Bay is a member of the Heavyhitters DJ coalition[4]. In 2014, Bay Bay was ranked number six by the Source Magazine as “The Source Power 30 DJs”[5].
Music Career[edit]
In 2009, Bay Bay became the CEO and founder of AnWhat Entertainment. Some consider Bay Bay as the streets A&R. In 2009 he released I Stay [6] – featuring Dorrough, Fat Pimp, Trai'D and Tum Tum. According to Billboard, A Bay Bay’s single, “I Stay”, featuring Dorrough Music, Fat Pimp, Trai’D & Tum Tum spent eight weeks on the Billboard Charts and hit a peak position of 82 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Top 100 Charts[7]. In 2011, he released Trunk Fulla [8]– featuring Jim Jones, Yo Gotti and Dorrough (2011). From his mixtape, Bay Bay Day (2013)[9], Bay Bay released Mind Right[10] – featuring Juvenile and produced by Mouse on Da Track. Later he went on to release several other singles that followed such as, HNIC – featuring Rick Ross, T-Pain and Master P (2013). This single was featured in HNHH, [11], Complex [12], and the Grand Report [13]. Bay Bay also released "Right Now"[14] – featuring Kevin Gates, Kirko Bangz, Ant Bankz (2015), Trap Holiday[15] – featuring Young Greatness (2016), and Don’t Make Me Do It (Cowboys)[16] also in 2016, which paid homage to Dallas’ beloved NFL team. On April 20, 2018 he released All These [17](featuring Lil Duval and Z-Ro).
Acting career[edit]
In 2014, Bay Bay made his first acting debut in the independent film from Director Juan Salas produced by Mista E, entitled Triple D[18], an urban drama that explores the lives of three young and ambitious men. The dubbed, “Gangster Film”[19], also starred Dallas rappers Mr. Lucci, Pooca Leeroy, and T Cash.
Personal Life[edit]
Bay Bay is married to rapper, Nichole Stewart, professionally known as NikkiBaybe. They have several kids together and go back and forth residing in both Dallas, TX and Shreveport, LA.
Bay Bay was honored by his hometown, the city of Shreveport, Louisiana, which named October 21 officially, Bay Bay Day[20].
