Beowulf (British band)

Beowulf are a British hard rock/heavy metal band formed in Manchester in November 1966 by then-15-year-old David Johnson. The band recorded their debut album in December 1969 and it was released in March 1970, when lead singer David Johnson was 18 years old. The band appeared on the charts in the UK and in the US throughout in the 1970s and 1980s and made an appearance on Top of the Pops in 1972 and again in 1985. The band gained controversy back in 1971 when one of their albums was deemed occult. They released their newest album in 2017.
