Bhale Chance Le is a Telugu television comedy game show broadcast by Maa Tv /Star Maa , created and directed by Hemant Apte. The first season of Bhale Chancele was launched in October 2008. It had the popular RJ Mirchi Hemant as the host, and had a successful run of 130 episodes. However, it was the second season which had the popular anchor Suma Kanakala as the host, which attained a cult following. The second season was launched in April 2011 and continued till August 2014 during which a total of 356 episodes were aired. The short third season had Sreemukhi as the host, and it aired its first episode on October 3rd 2016.
Gameplay Bhale Chance Le is one of the most popular game shows on Star Maa TV. It is based on the simple yet classic board game of Snakes and Ladders. Three famous celebrities are called on to the show where they play the game of Snakes and Ladders on a pyramid shaped set featuring squares numbering 1 to 55. Like in the board game, each player tries to be the first to reach the top square. However, unlike in a board game, which has coins or markers moving up and down the board, here it is the celebrities themselves who have to move. At every turn, the celebrities have to do a random funny task given by the host, so that they can charge the dice girls to give them a number – this will be the number of steps they can move on the set. The fun tasks given to the celeb include prop games, dance, mimicry or any other fun activity. While the board game structure is the skeleton of Bhale Chance Le, the fun is generated by the smart repartee between the host and the celebrity participants as they play along with the game. From the second season onwards, the host was also supported by two sidekicks – namely Jumbo (an overweight mischievious mime artiste) and Gimbo (an undersized sharp talking dancer/actor). In each episode, Jumbo and Gimbo would be dressed in differnet getups, and the spontaneous give and take between the host Suma and her two sidekicks would add an extra layer of fun to the proceedings. With Suma hosting the show in her trademark witty and fun-loving style, and with Jumbo and Gimbo trying new things in each episode to annoy her, each episode of Bhale Chance Le had a uniquely different flavour unlike other game shows.
