On June 1, 2015, TheWrap reported that Dwayne Johnson was developing produce a Big Trouble In Little China remake with his Seven Bucks Productions film studio and distributed by 20th Century Fox, with Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz as screenwriters.[1] On June 8, 2015, Entertainment Weekly, Johnson expressed interest in having Carpenter involved in the film and on June 11, 2015, Carpenter responded stating, "It's very early in the process. I haven't spoken to Dwayne Johnson about any of this... I'm ambivalent about a remake."[2][3] By August 27, 2018, Seven Bucks Productions' President Hiram Garcia clarified that the film will be a sequel, instead of a remake.[4]
Casting[edit]
On June 1, 2015, Dwayne Johnson will play Jack Burton in the remake,[1] and on August 27, 2018, Hiram Garcia revealed that Johnson is playing a different character.[4]
