Robert Chesney (born August 10, 1977) is an American football coach and currently the head coach at the College of the Holy Cross.

Prior to becoming the head coach at Holy Cross, from 2013-2017 he was the head coach at Assumption College in Worcester MA. Coach Chesney was a 2 time NEC-10 coach of the year while coaching at Assumption College. He led the Greyhounds to the NCAA Division 2 playoffs for 3 consecutive years, 2015-2017. Under coach Chesney the program also reached its highest win total ever in a season, 11 wins (twice 2015 and 2017).

From 2010-2012 he was the head coach at Salve Regina University in Newport RI.


Coach Chesney is a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle Pa where he was a captain of the football team, team MVP, and 4 year letter winner.
