From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance [1] is a three-day automotive charitable event held each year at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Florida, considered the most prestigious event of its kind.

History[edit]

The Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance is the world’s largest for charity, and fully benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. The Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance was founded and directed by Rita & Rick Case of The Rick Case Automotive Group as volunteers who have annually continued their leadership and hands-on involvement over the last 13 years and Honorary Chair Mike Jackson, is all to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and the more than 12,300 at-risk youth it serves.[2]

“The entire Concours team is comprised of a group of over 300 volunteers who donate their time to the planning and execution of the event,” says Brian Quail, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. Quail added, “In 2018, the event attracted thousands of attendees and to date has raised more than $10 million for our organization.

Prospective entrants must submit an application for each car, and the Concours field is selected from each year's pool of applicants. Many collectors spend years and hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing and restoring a car in hopes of being chosen.

Many of the competing cars are valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and more recently into the millions of dollars. For this reason, along with its remarkable setting and amenities, the Boca Raton Concours is considered the premier concours in the world.[3]

Once the show kicks off, guests are invited to walk through a series of vendor tents and enjoy a selection of gourmet food, wine and cocktails from more than 30 of South Florida’s finest restaurants at the Concours d’Gourmet Pavilion.
