Bonga (singer and producer)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Rajaab Hassan (born 14 March 1996), popularly known as Bonga [1] [2], is a Tanzanian record producer, songwriter and singer. He is considered amongst Tanzanian's to be a prominent representative of the popular genre known as Bongo Flava. He produced songs such as Uno and Kushoto Kulia by Harmonize, Nitake Nini by Lava Lava and Ntade by Ruby. The former was nominated for an Afrima award. Other artists Bonga has worked with include Diamond Platnumz, Nandy and Dully Sykes. Bonga was mentioned by MTV Base among "Acts To Look Out For" in 2017 [11].

Career[edit]

Following the well documented split of Harmonize from Wasafi Classic Baby WCB, a Tanzanian record label founded by Diamond Platnumz, in August 2019, Bonga then producer of Harmonize found himself affiliated with Harmonize's newly formed KONDE GANG RECORDS [3] by default. As a new media rivalry was born between Bongo Flava stars Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize, Bonga who had long been readying himself for the release of his own music decided that in this time of new beginnings he too would start afresh, choosing to step out of the shadow of his former production role. The move by Bonga to establish his own team in preparation for the release of his music has been widely discussed by Tanzania's local media, with many speculating as to why Bonga ultimately decided to leave KONDE GANG RECORDS [4] [5] [10][9].
