The company has offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Turkey. Head quarter of Boni Global is located inside Istanbul Technical University, (Istanbul/Turkey). Boni Global, delivers assistive technologies for smart cities and smart buildings which is bringing accessibility services for blind and visually impaired. Solutions are under operations under in 6 countries and 14 cities around the world. Boni Global is well-known in the field of geomatics technologies, way-finding and localization services and brings lots of experience about map making and navigation from previous applications..[1][2], [3] The applications are helpful to locate, discover and navigate inside the venues. Through the voice guidance and descriptive information services, it is helping more than 30,000 visually impaired people around the world. Boni Global has collaborations with key global NGOs and brands [4][3]

Boni Global was founded by Sarper Silaoglu in 2011. At the early stages, the company was focusing to develop mobile phone based positioning services which can be deployed in enclosed areas where existing satellite based positioning services can not work. After research and development activities in Istanbul Technical University, a patent protected solution[5][6] has been invented. After trying several business cases in different venues, Boni Global developed a unique way to assist visually impaired and blind people to become independent in indoor spaces. The main goal of the company is to break the barriers of the world using technology.[7][8][4]

Boni Global provides localization and engagement technologies to publicly available buildings with over 1 million visitors each year, such as airports, hospitals, shopping malls, museums, stations or governmental buildings. The goal of the services is to bring interaction between people and the facility itself. The predominant solution Boni Global provides is the accessibility technology also named as assistive or adaptive technologies. Boni Global also offers products based on the characteristics of the buildings, such as engaging with visitors, employees, or the movable objects [9]

Awards[edit]

Boni Global won the category of Urban Living Solutions on September 15th and became a finalist on September 17th. Boni Global, one of the finalists with the project Loud Steps, was the first of the Smart City Pioneer Idea Contest (2017), created by virtual assistantship services and city life for disabled people. Boni Global wins Smart City Pioneer Idea Contest with Loud Steps.[10]
