Borhene Dhaouadi (born 1 March 1980, Bizerte[1]) (Tunisian Arabic: برهان الذوادي) is a French-Tunisian architect and urbanist.[2][3]
Early life and career[edit]
Dhaouadi was born on 1 March 1980 in Bizerte.[1] He studied Architecture at L'École Nationale Supérieure D'Architecture de Marseille. He has a Master's in Real Estate and Urban Politics from Euromed Management.[1]
Career[edit]
In 2008, Dhaouadi worked as a project manager[4] for Coplan Ingénierie a French architectural and engineering firm. Later that year, he co-founded, with a group of European investors,[5] Groupement DTA an architectural firm based in Tunisia.[2]
Bizerte 2050 and Tunisian Smart Cities[edit]
In 2011, he founded Bizerte 2050 a nonprofit aiming to make Bizerte the first smart city in Tunisia.[3] In 2017, he founded the nonprofit Tunisian Smart Cities (TSC) to promote the development of smart cities at the national level. He manages the Smart City Office at the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies.[6]
