Boys World is an American girl group formed in 2019 by KYN Entertainment. The group released their first single "Girlfriends" in October 2020,[1] followed by their first EP While You Were Out on April 9, 2021.[2]

History[edit]

The group was created by KYN Entertainment founder Sonny Takhar. He discovered the members by their individual music covers posted on social media and asked if they were interested in forming a new girl group. He describes the timing of the group as being perfect, citing the fact that there was no dominating girl group in the United States at the time since Fifth Harmony disbanded in 2018.[1] Each member of the group was chosen for their "various idiosyncrasies," which has led the media to dub them the "Gen Z Spice Girls".[3][4]

In October 2020, Boys World released their first single and music video "Girlfriends".[1] In January 2021, they released their second single "Wingman".[5] Boys World's popularity is heavily influenced by their Tiktok presence, with the group having over one million followers on the social media platform.[1][4]
