Bukit Kana National Park(BKNP) is a Totally Protected Area gazetted as a national park by the state government of Sarawak on 15th January 2015. Located in Tatau District, Bintulu, and a portion in Mukah Division, BKNP covers an area of 4923 hectares of hilly forests.

Attraction[edit]

The magical crystal clear water of rivers and its waterfall adored by the visitors. The highest waterfall in BKNP discovered was roughly measured at 146 metres high. Due to its cleanliness, the water is used as water supply to their homes. The locals used to visit the waterfall spending their quality time during the weekend with their families and friends.

Bay cat is claimed to be seen here by the locals and researchers. A bay cat is a totally protected animal in Sarawak. Its bright chestnut colour distinguished itself from any other feline species, which makes them a targets by hunters due to the uniqueness of the colour.

Rules and Regulation[edit]

BKNP is protected under Sarawak's National Parks and Nature Reserves Ordinance, 1998[1] and Wild Life Protection Ordinance, 1998[2]>. Under these ordinances, visitors are bound to not to hunt, collect specimens, set up fire, cutting trees and much more.

Visiting hours[edit]

BKNP is not yet officially open to the public. Several development plans are still under progress for developing accommodation for the tourist, park management and others by Forest Department of Sarawak. To enter, visitors and researchers need to submit their application to the Controller of National Parks of Sarawak or Director of Forests, Sarawak.[3]
