C. K. Kumaravel (born October 16, 1965.[1]) is an Indian entrepreneur. He is the CEO & Co-founder of India's leading unisex salon chain Naturals Salon, Grooms India Salon & Spa Private Limited, with over 550+ [2] outlets across cities. CK Kumaravel, popularly known as CKK, co-founded Naturals Salon with his wife and founder Veena Kumaravel in 2000 [3]. He is a former member of Makkal Needhi Maiam party [4]

Early life and education[edit]

Kumaravel was born in 1965 in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. His parents[5] were Chinni Krishnan and Hemalatha. He has 3 brothers, C.K. Ranganathan[6] [Founder & CMD[7] of Cavinkare], C. K. Ashok Kumar and C. K. Rajkumar and 2 sisters Andal Bhaskar (Gynaecologist) and Vijayalakshmi.

Kumaravel studied Nutrition Sciences degree[8] at PSG College of Arts & Sciences

Focus on Women Empowerment[edit]

In 2014, Kumaravel signed an MoU[9] with Bharatiya Mahila Bank on behalf of Naturals Salon to give loans[10] for women to start Naturals Salon. Under his guidance Naturals Salon has empowered 300+[11] women to become entrepreneurs in the past 16 years. Naturals Salon is the title sponsor[12] for the successful Homepreneur Awards, a platform to recognize and celebrate the women who have chosen to pursue their passion through entrepreneurship from home.
