Kanpur Civil Aerodrome ( ICAO/IATA: VEKA) is a VFR airport that was originally designated for the Light Aircraft, Code A operation In the early development phase of Airports in India by British Government during 1932. Total Land is enclosed with boundary wall having land area of 206.69 Acres. OPERATIONAL AREA - 201.33 ACRES; RESIDENTIAL AREA - 5.36 ACRES AIRPORT OWNER/OPERATOR:- Airports Authority of India LOCATION :- Located at Centre of City, 03 Km from Railway station,1.5Km from Bus Station. SUITABILITY OF AERODROME:- Suitable Up to B200 type Aircraft, Aircraft with AUW 5600 kg or less can operate. RUNWAY:- RUNWAY DESIGNATION:- 10/28 DIMENSION- 1128 M X 45 M/ Useable 1082M X 45M DIMENSION OF RUNWAY STRIP:- 1204 M X 152 M RUNWAY SHOULDERS:- Available APRON:- 03 Bays (91.0M x 79.0M) Till 2001 Archana Airways were operating with 22 seater carrier. Also UP Govt. Flying Training Institute, were operating from this Aerodrome. In 2001 Archana Airways closed its operation on technical ground. In 2005 UP Govt. Flying Training Institute also closed its operation and handed over hangers and Infrastructures to AAI in 2012. NCC Hangers since 1954 with workshop facility in separate hanger. In 2017 NCC vacated hangers. From 2005 to 2013 there was no ATC watch (schedule), however watch was being provided on demand basis to operator. From September 2013 watch (schedule) being provided as per request made by M/s Garg Aviations Pvt Ltd.
