Animation, Cartoons and Walt Disney visit to Carlos Trupp in Chile[edit]

Carlos Trupp with another Architect Student created a Cartoon named "Copuchita" based on the unique Chilean Condor. They started an animated film that cost them a lot of effort. Because of all their enthusiasm Walt Disney in person wanted to meet them and find out about this wonderful project. Walt Disney visited Chile in 1941, in search material for his own studios; Carlos Trupp and Jaime Escudero were his hosts when he called at their studios. Fascinated, Disney remained two hours inspecting their antiquated hand-made equipment and giving them much valuable advice. The American producer was astonished to find that Trupp and Escudero were producing first class film with the same type of camera with which he began his own career.[2]

City Planner[edit]

He performed more than 40 Master Plan for different Counties and Cities in Chile and South America, working together with his uncle Luis Muñoz Maluschka, also a well known Chilean Architect and City Planner. [3] Carlos Trupp projected the Kennedy Avenue to develop the east side of the City of Santiago back in 1952. "Santiago has been growing without control. The new Master Plan of the Metropolitan Area will control future development". [4]

Publications[edit]

In 1972 Carlos Trupp and Luis Muñoz published their first book in Spain and Germany, "Cultural Landscape of Physical Planning". This book explains the necessity of considering the Physical Planning as a Science that will organize and regulate human co-existence. [5]

In 1977 he returned to Chile and accepted a position in the City of Talca as the City Architect. He reorganized the City planning and started to apply all his theories regarding Physical planning and human co-existence. Those were very difficult times in Chile, but his knowledge and strenght as Public server put every boby to work under the same roof. In 1981 he created a Master Plan that organized the suburban areas in Talca and provided housing for more than 2,000 families in the City of Talca. It was the first time that the City, the County and the Regioanl Government worked together making this project a reality. Today he is remembered as part of this City and this urban area is named after him.[6]

Legacy[edit]

His legacy is very important today. In order to develop any Plan a co-existence among the Technical Sciences is needed. The interaction among the different Sciences that are call to produce the Plan will be mandatory but the Physical Planning will be the Science responsible to lead the group. [7]
