Cathy Fedoruk (b. September 14, 1967) is a Canadian model. She represented Cover Girl, Revlon, Ralph Lauren, Georges Marciano and Max Mara during the 80's and 90's [1]. Cathy modeled during the era known as the "golden age of the supermodel", and worked with the modeling agencies Click, Elite and Ford. Her Canadian contemporaries included Linda Evangelista, Monika Schnarre, and Lana Ogilvie.

Early Life[edit]

Cathy Fedoruk was born September 14, 1967 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The eldest of two daughters born to John Fedoruk, a manager at Telus, British Columbia, and Arlene (nee Mansfield), a library services assistant.

She graduated South Delta Senior High School, and won the Miss Delta Pageant in 1985, and in 1987 found her way to New York City via Elmer Olsen. [2]

Career[edit]

In June 1988 Fedoruk landed the cover of American Vogue[3] and worked as a model until her first son was born in 2003. Fedoruk appeared in international magazines that included Vogue[4], Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Self, Cosmopolitan and Glamour.

Fedoruk has been featured in advertising campaigns for Revlon[5], Cover Girl, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Max Mara, Ann Taylor, Georges Marciano, Guy Laroche, Aquascutum, Banana Republic, Rodier, Ellesse, Escada, Marina Rinaldi, Clairol, Clarion and L'oreal.

She appeared in Foreigner's music video "Say You Will" in 1987, which became number one on MTV's top twenty chart in February 1988.

She was Absolut Cathy [6] for Absolut Vodka in the 1990's, and hosted the 1995 International Billboard Billie Awards along side Ruby Mazur, the artist who designed the "mouth and tongue" logo for the Rolling Stones [7].

Personal Life[edit]

In 1999 Fedoruk married Keith Abell, an international entrepreneur. She graduated magna cum laude at NYU in May 2015 with a BA in creative writing and literature. Fedoruk currently lives in New York City with her husband and two children. She writes travel articles, poetry and fiction that has been published in Canada and the U.S.[8]
