Cedric Blossom born (January 12, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Club Deportes Castro of the Liga Nacional de Básquetbol de Chile. He played college basketball at Morgan State University.


Early Life and High School[edit]

Blossom was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in the suburbs of Laurel and Columbia. He attended Hammond High School for two years before transferring to Montrose Christian School for his junior and senior years. He was a standout basketball player who played a major role in bringing a county championship [1] to Hammond and a national championship1 [2] to Montrose.

College Career[edit]

Blossom played four seasons for the Morgan State Bears, starting out as a roll player and gradually gaining more playing time until he was a starter his final 3 seasons. In his first season as a starter he averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds. In his senior season, Blossom was selected to the Preseason All-MEAC Second Team. Blossom scored a career high 28 points and 15 rebounds against Norfolk State University. Blossom surpassed the 1,000 career points scoring mark and etched his name in history as he finished as the Bear's number 24 all time leading scorer and number 11 all time leading rebounder. He averaged 15 points 6.6 rebounds his senior season earning him MEAC Third Team honors[3]. He graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in broadcast, journalism.

Professional Career[edit]

Petrolero Argentino[edit]

Blossom was not selected in the 2016 NBA draft, but after briefly working out for Résidence Walferdange of the Total League in Luxembourg; He signed with Petrolero Argentino of the La Liga Argentina de Básquet on October 30, 2016. In 67 games with the team he averaged 15.9 points and 6.5 redounds.[4] After his seasons with Petro, he competed for a spot on the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G League. He later signed a contract extension with Petrolero in the summer of 2017.

Club Atlético Platense[edit]

Blossom returned to Argentina and signed with Club Atlético Platense of La Liga Argentina on October 13, 2018. In games 56 games he averaged 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds. He was the second leading scorer and top rebounder on his team willing his team to a regular season and playoff championship in La Liga Argentina with a top level performance (in the deciding game 5) chipping in 14 points and 9 rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian La Liga Argentina Honorable Mention[5]

Club Deportes Castro[edit]

On September 10, 2019 Blossom signed with Club Deportes Castro[6] of Liga Nacional de Básquetbol de Chile. He led the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 19.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.[7] Throughout the season, he won several mvp awards [8]by Menta Publicidad and Direct TV. The season ended in March 2020.

Personal Life[edit]

Blossom is an ambitious entrepreneur as he owns a t-shirt brand "CHRISTeverything" and is founder of his Cross Movement Basketball Camp for kids ages 6 and up. He also recently created a youtube channel giving viewers an inside look at his life as a professional international basketball player.
