Chandana Deepti is a 2012 batch Indian Police Service Officer of Telangana Cadre, 65RR (Regular Recruit), trained at SVPNPA, Hyderabad. Well, it had to be that dramatic of an introduction or nothing! She is someone who has dived straight into IPS from IIT, got herself “people’s officer” as a moniker, known for her out-of-the-box ideas in bringing about a change, and continues to make unparalleled contribution in changing the image of “police” surely deserves much more.
Early life and Schooling
Chandana was born in Warangal and was brought up in several places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. She did her schooling from Good Shepherd School, Chittoor and later did B.Tech from IIT Delhi. She has always been a brilliant student. She cracked IIT JEE Entrance examination and took admission in IIT Delhi from where she has done B.Tech in Computer Science. During her B.Tech she decided to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Her first aim was to join Indian Foreign Service, but later changed to IPS. Interestingly, IAS has never been her first choice of services.
Chandana Deepti, District Police Chief, Medak, has effortlessly achieved the ideal balance of being stringent while promoting friendly policing. In a short span of time, she has become one of the most respected police officers of the country for her innovative ways of policing. She is using her engineering degree to the fullest and has become a case study for using technology in the management of Law and Order. Her recent initiative – Lear A New Skill Daily – is being applauded. She is a rare officer who is equally loved and respected by both public and department. She has worked stupendously as the SP of Medak district. She's also very active in the social websites' platform to reach maximum number of people to know and solve their problems accurately.
She got recognised for being The Best in Intelligence at National Police Academy, amongst many other accolades and also got a good name in the public for her service.
