Christian “Chris” Decker, B.S., MSEM, is an American entrepreneur, consultant, and retired Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer.[1]. Currently, he serves as the president and founder of Planate Management Group[2] and president of WorldWide B2B Services[3]

Early Life and Education

Chris Decker was born in Churchville, Pennsylvania to Ray Decker and Jeanne Decker. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and in 1984, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering[4][5]. He then obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Management at the University of Florida (MSEM) in 1991[6][7]. He completed his Command & Staff Diploma from the Naval War College in 1998[8].

Career

Decker retired after 20 years of service in the Navy as a Deputy Assistant Commander for Operations Pearle Harbor (Hawaii). He supervised, plans, design and construction based operational services. Decker became a Principal Analyst for the Combatting Terrorism Program (Chief of Naval Operations N46) where he led the Navy in the post September 2011 coordination and development of a DoD/Joint Staff installation protection plan. In 2007, he founded his own company, Planate Management Group LLC, which provides global installation and management consulting services centered on planning, design, and construction[9][10]. The company has earned several awards, including the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded by the US Navy [11]. He also serves as the president of WorldWide B2B Services, a consulting firm[12]. In 2004, he coauthored Apply Risk-Based Decision-Making Methods and Tools to U.S. Navy Antiterrorism Capabilities with Charles Mitchell[13].

Community Service and Other Activities

He is the co- founder and active board member of the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation. This foundation aids in the recovery of injured Sailors, Coast Guardmen, and supporting families through provision of non-governmental resource[14]. He is also an active board member and the president and founder of Fashion for Fighters Foundation. Similar to the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation, Fashion for Fighters hosts annual fashion shows to raise funds for the wounded, ill, and injured military persons[15][16]

Decker regularly participates in and volunteers for many organizations, including the Military Officers Association of America, Disabled American Veterans, Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association and is a life member for the Seabee Museum and Memorial Park.

Awards

Decker earned his first award in June 1987 through the Ten Outstanding Young Americans, a program created by JCI USA (formally known as Jaycess or The United States Junior Chamber) to recognize ten Americans who “exemplify the best attributes of the nation’s young people” [17] Later, in 1996, Decker received his second award through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for his professionalism in engineering and service to the profession and community.
