Clifford Jago

Clifford Jago is a london-based fashion stylist, art director and “self-proclaimed ‘king of the fashion underground’”.[1] His work emerged in 2016, unfolding from the zeitgeist of video game culture, his passion of Francesco Zola and a first week dismissal from Saville Row.[2] Jago began using repurposed materials as props to portray characters and tell stories through their styling and photography.

His first book was released in 2016 titled 'Clifford Jago & the Tulip chewers' exhibited at PYLOT Magazine, Mare Street studios[3]. With a positive response he went on to produce his second publication issue 'Clifford Jago & The Ice Queens' which was exhibited in The White Rabbit Studios[4], Shoreditch as well as featuring in Tate Moderns' book fair running from 19th until 21st of May 2018[5].

‘Clifford Jago & the Tulip Chewers’ - Shot in Holland, Jago along with 6 models visited the country to create the images for the first issue of their publication. Using found objects and readymades to create a ‘natural vibe’ to blend in with their location,[2] they picked ‘Clifford Jago & The Ice Queens’ - For the second issue of their publication, Jago flew to Iceland through easyjet.com to submerge themselves within the “stunning natural wonders”. Using Icelandic models for their shots they created a fashion bible for video game enthusiasts across the world[1]

Jago has had his work publicized in magazines PYLOT Magazine[3], Petrie Inventory[6], Crack Magazine[7], It’s nice that [4] and Vice Magazine.[1] There new issue 'Clifford Jago & The Ice Queens' will be featuring the Tate Modern book fair.[5]
