Composure is the upcoming third studio album by American pop punk band Real Friends. The album is set to be released on July 13, 2018 through Fearless records.
Background[edit]
Following the completion of their second album, The Home Inside My Head, the band quickly realized it wasn't their best work. According to bassist Kyle Fasel, "we really weren’t satisfied with it. It’s not a good representation of our capabilities."[1] Singer Dan Lambton's struggled with bipolar disorder also worsened. This led to the band cancelling their European tour on November 11, 2016.[2]
Release[edit]
On November 16, 2017 the band released "Get By", then on June 4, 2018 they released "From the Outside".[3][4] On June 18, 2018 they released "Smiling on the Surface" and announced the album title.[5] The band also hosted listening parties of the full album for hometown fans disguised as acoustic performances.
Writing and composition[edit]
For Composure, the band sought to create a catchier album than previously and improve as songwriters. Fasel said that, "“we have never put this much time and effort into a record," and that, "the performances on Composure are phenomenal."
