Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church

The Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church (Russian: Совет по делам Русской православной церкви) was a government council in the Soviet Union that controlled the Russian Orthodox Church as part of Soviet religious policy. It was founded on 14 September 1943. In December 1965 it was merged with the Council for the Affairs of Religious Cults to form the Council for Religious Affairs.[1]
