Search Crater (2019 film) on Amazon.Crater (Chinese: 天火, Tianhuo) is an upcoming action disaster film directed by Simon West, and produced by Base Pictures and Meridian Entertainment. Set on a volcano that erupts in the South China Sea, the story follows young female scientist Meng and her family and friends, who must race against the clock to save lives before the entire island blows.
Pre-production began in summer 2018, and the film is scheduled to be released Executive producers are Aaron Shershow, known for his work on Marco Polo, and Jib Polhemus, known for his work on The Expendables 2. The film's design are headed by production designer Paul Kirby, known for his work on Hellboy, and supervising art director David Ingram, whose most recent film is Crazy Rich Asians.
