Crossword is an upcoming Bengali teenage drama web series, directed by Shubhayan Chandra. The series is based on emotional genre and is first in Bengal to feature all youtubers & social media influencers as it's main cast.

The project was announced on December 21, 2020 with it's first look poster launched by TV9 Bangla, with all the casts being announced on the same date. The web series is due to hit OTT platforms in April 2021.

Synopsis

Four guys and two girls comes to a rented PG in kolkata, where they meet Subho - the landlord & Koushik da (his brother) and eventually develops a strong bond amongst each other. But as all bonding in life are as temporary as their stay in the PG, soon they break off and move their own ways, rediscovering their second phase of life while in process.

Early Development

The idea of Crossword came with the idea of Collaboration with few youtubers / social media influencers. Soon the collab idea was turned into a proper series plan. Shubhayan Chandra wrote the initial storyline, and narrated to the team, who further pushed into making the web series. Then Royale Entertainment was approached for production and successfully Deepak Punjabi produced the entire show. However main challenge was to get the collaboration idea formulated into proper film making, with Social media influencers, who had least idea about acting in a production. Online workshop through google meet was conducted during Late November & early December, 2020. The casting was finalized through video calls, and final casts were called to Kolkata for the main workshop, which started from December 24th 2020, and ran till January 2, 2021. Shooting for first phase started on 3rd January 2021.

First look poster of Crossword was released December 21, 2020 and was exclusively covered by TV9 Bangla. [1]

The Web Series is expected to launch in April 2021 and will stream in Frixtion TV, MX Player and other OTT Platforms as well.
