Croxley Tip

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Croxley Tip was a landfill site owned by London Underground until the 1980s. On the site there was a section of sidings on the Watford South Curve, used for removing debris from the Neasden Power Station as electric power was connected to the National Grid. Waste was also dumped here. Ex-GWR 5700 Class tank locomotives were used for this operation, then pairs of London Underground battery-electric locomotives. The layout of the siding varied from time to time.[1] The Tip nowadays has vastly overgrown. Sleepers are hidden underneath the grass and the entrance's trackbed still visible from passing trains.[2] It is unknown what the site will become but a past proposal to construct a depot by Metronet were rejected by local residents.[3]
